From Humble Beginnings to Industrial Excellence

Every great journey begins somewhere. Ours began in a small garage.

PUFATI SRL was built on determination, hard work, and the belief that something meaningful could grow from modest beginnings.

Our first workspace was a garage beside a small family home. Back then, our equipment was simple: a vacuum-operated machine that collected feathers and transferred them into sacks.

There were no large production halls, advanced sorting systems, or extensive storage facilities. Just a small operation, a willingness to work, and the ambition to build something greater.

Our First Major Step

As our business developed, we made an investment that would change the way we worked: our first feather-sorting machine.

Instead of simply collecting and storing raw feathers purchased from suppliers, we could begin separating the material into different categories according to its characteristics and down content.

The machine operated through four sorting chambers:

• Chamber 1 — Initial separation: Larger, unsuitable feathers, dust, and other unwanted material were removed.

• Chamber 2 — Feather separation: A feather-rich fraction containing approximately 2% down or less.

• Chamber 3 — Feather and down mixture: A cleaner, sorted mixture with approximately 10–15% down content.

• Chamber 4 — High-down-content material: The finest separated fraction, containing approximately 90–94% down.

This was a turning point for PUFATI. It marked our transition from a small collection operation toward more specialized feather and down processing.

A New Chapter of Growth

As demand and our ambitions increased, so did our need for space and better equipment.

An opportunity arose to acquire a much larger property, and we decided to invest in the future of the company.

What began in a garage gradually developed into a dedicated feather-processing operation.

Today, our facilities include two large industrial sorting machines and two medium-sized sorting machines, allowing us to process and separate different feather and down materials.

Our operations have also expanded to include substantial storage capacity, specialized vacuum-operated equipment for transferring feathers and down into sacks, and dedicated washing and drying machinery.

Each new investment represents another step forward from where we began.

Built Through Continuous Investment

Our story is not simply about moving from a small garage to larger facilities.

It is about everything we learned along the way.

Over the years, we have continued to improve our equipment, expand our capabilities, and develop our approach to feather and down processing.

And we are still investing.

For us, growth has never meant forgetting our beginnings. The determination that helped establish PUFATI remains part of the way we work today.
