Proper washing, drying, and storage help preserve their softness, volume, freshness, and comfort over time.

Please follow the instructions below together with the individual product care label.

1. How Often Should You Wash Your Pillow or Duvet?

Under normal conditions, washing once or twice per year is generally sufficient.

Frequent washing is usually unnecessary when products are properly maintained and aired regularly.

Additional cleaning may be required depending on usage and hygiene needs.

For the best results, PUFATI recommends professional cleaning at a facility experienced in caring for natural down and feather products.

However, home washing is also permitted when the following instructions and the product care label are followed.

2. Washing at Home

Both PUFATI goose down pillows and duvets can be washed at home using a suitable washing machine.

Recommended washing instructions:

• Maximum temperature: 30°C.
• Preferred program: Gentle down or feather washing cycle.
• Alternative program: Wool cycle, if no suitable down/feather program is available.
• Detergent: Special detergent designed for natural down and feathers.
• Wash separately: Wash one pillow or duvet at a time, allowing sufficient space inside the machine.
• Laundry balls: Suitable washing-machine-safe laundry balls may be used during washing to help reduce filling clumps, provided the appliance manufacturer permits their use.

Clean tennis balls may be used only when their suitability for the appliance and fabric has been confirmed.

Do not use bleach or fabric softener.

Choose a washing machine with sufficient capacity for the product. Avoid forcing a large duvet into a small drum.

3. Drying at Home

Correct drying is especially important for natural down and feather filling.

PUFATI pillows and duvets may be dried using either an appropriate tumble dryer or careful air drying, provided the product's care label permits the selected method.

Tumble dryer instructions:

• Use a special down/feather drying program.
• If unavailable, select a low-temperature or delicate drying program.
• Add suitable dryer balls or clean tennis balls, where permitted by the appliance manufacturer, to help separate the filling and restore its natural volume.
• Periodically check the product and gently redistribute the filling.
• Continue drying until the filling is completely dry, including at the center.

Air-drying instructions:

• Place the product in a dry, well-ventilated area.
• Redistribute the filling regularly by gently shaking and fluffing.
• Turn the product periodically to encourage even drying.
• Allow sufficient time for the interior filling to dry completely.

Never store or use the product while the interior filling remains damp.

Incomplete drying can cause unpleasant odors, filling clumps, and moisture-related damage.

4. Professional Washing and Drying

Although home washing and drying are permitted, PUFATI recommends professional cleaning and drying at a laundry experienced in natural down and feather bedding.

Professional equipment may provide more suitable capacity and more consistent drying for large duvets and heavily filled pillows.

Customers should inform the cleaning facility that the product contains natural goose down and feathers.

5. Daily Care and Fluffing

To maintain comfort and natural volume:

• Gently shake and fluff pillows and duvets regularly.
• Allow products to air in a dry, ventilated space.
• Redistribute filling if it becomes compressed.
• Avoid storing products while damp.

Regular airing and fluffing can help maintain freshness between washes.

6. Storage Instructions

When pillows or duvets are not in use:

• Store them in a clean, dry, and well-ventilated place.
• Prefer breathable cotton or fabric storage bags.
• Ensure the filling is completely dry before storage.
• Avoid prolonged vacuum compression.
• Keep products away from moisture and damp environments.

Storing natural down under excessive compression for long periods can affect its loft and comfort.

7. Important Care Precautions

Always check the product's individual care label before washing or drying.

Do not exceed the recommended washing temperature.

Avoid bleach, fabric softeners, excessive heat, and unsuitable detergents.

Use laundry or dryer balls only when appropriate for the equipment and product.
